Join Ohio University Professor Patricia Weitsman, Political Science, and Dr. William Blum, MD, of OSU Medical Center, Division of Hematology, in Irvine Auditorium on West Green from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.
In spring 2011, Professor Weitsman received a life saving bone marrow transplant from an anonymous donor. Dr. Blum was -- and is -- her primary care hematologist. This lecture will welcome Professor Weitsman back to Ohio University after a lengthy medical leave that ensured her survival. We're honored to welcome Dr. Blum of the James Blood and Marrow Transplant team at the Ohio State Medical Center to discuss his extensive experience overseeing the care of bone marrow transplant patients. Bone marrow transplant is one of the most perilous and miraculous medical procedures that exists.
This lecture series will kick-off our FIFTH ANNUAL GOT SWABBED? BONE MARROW campaign with Gift of Life. If you haven't swabbed, we encourage you to get swabbed at this event and to bring a friend!
